Byron Bay/Nimbin Adventures

The morning after the concert the three of us rushed to the rain station trying to find our greyhound that would take us to Byron Bay, of course us girls were starving and were taking our time trying to find a maccas that we could have breakfast at, while Tom was freaking out we would miss our bus, we made it by the way with plenty of time to spare! after taking a nice long nap on the two hour bus ride we arrived to perfect waves at the coolest little surf town of Byron, where people with dreads and a long board we were norm and no shoe and no shirt weren't a problem needless to say i thought our bus had crashed and i had ended up in heaven! We had a few hours to kill before our little Nimbin shuttle would take us the additional hour and a half to the town of Nimbin and the MardiGrass festival, so what did we d with our few hours...went and rented some surf boards and hit the surf! they waves were rolling in at the most perfect sets i had ever seen! they were probably 5 or 6 footers and perfect tubes! my inner surfer dude was losing herself! so i dragged my board down the beach and paddled out right away catching as many waves as i could before we absolutely had to come in because we were starving and wanted to explore the little town for a little before heading off on our next adventure, we got pizza and beer at a little restaurant and shopped around to what was surf shop after surf shop! we then headed over the the bus stop where we got the first feel on what exactly we would be experiencing on this little trip, some of the craziest hippies i have ever seen were sitting on the bench next to us waiting for the bus to get there, we were probably the only three there without dreads and reeking of bob marely. the rickety ride rolls in and its glorified school bus missing all its windows, we hand the driver our tickets and sit down. once everyones loaded on the driver stands up and says that on our way to nimbin the buses have been none to be pulled over and searched so if anyone had anything they couldn't quickly get rid off to hop off the bus quick and do what they had to do, about 10 people got off, and we just looked at each other and were like what did we get ourselves into!
